Haute Event: The Tree of Life at the Soho House

For film buffs, the place to be last night was The Tree of Life screening followed by a panel discussion at the private Soho House club.

The Tree of Life, the American film written and directed by the reclusive Terrence Malick, stars Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain and just recently premiered in competition at the Cannes Film Festival where it won the highest honor, the Palme d’Or. The impressionistic film has created debate wherever it has been shown, which made it a good pick for a panel discussion.

The Soho House & Grey Goose vodka Picture House Event was hosted by Dave Karger of Los Angeles Weekly, and included panelists actress Jessica Chastain and Bill Pohlad  (The Tree of Life.) After a spirited Q&A session, as well as screening from highlighted films at the recent Cannes Film festival,  guests enjoyed the Grey Goose Basil and Key Lime Gimlet.
