Launch My Line: Levi’s and Opening Ceremony Collaborate

More and more retailers these days are channeling fashion’s biggest names to collaborate on high profile, limited-edition collections. From Topshop and Kate Moss to H&M and Jimmy Choo  retail-designer collaborations are more in style then ever. Now San Francisco-based brand Levi’s follows suit by putting speculations to rest and joining forces with NY-based, indie retail space, Opening Ceremony.

Rumors recently spread after Len Peltier, the Creative Director at Levi’s tweeted about working on a film piece for the collaboration. After rumors recently began circulating the two retail giants announced the multi-season collaboration, which is set to hit the San Francisco flagship store, Levi’, and Opening Ceremony in February during New York Fashion Week. San Franciscans and Levi’s fans alike are in for an extra luxurious treat starting the weekend of February 19 when the beloved heritage brand will dedicate the entire first floor of its Union Square flagship to the collection.

However, those looking for a denim-themed collection can keep searching. The focus of the line will (surprisingly) be corduroy.  In stock will be fine-wale corduroy jackets, pants, shirts, and shorts. Promising to add a splash of color for spring, the collection will feature unisex pants in fuchsia, teal, lavender, beige and many others.

The stylish Opening Ceremony is no stranger to heritage brand collaborations. The retail space has had a string of successful projects from Keds to Pendleton. “We love to work with heritage brands that have a real history,” Humberto Leon co-founder of Opening Ceremony told WWD. The collection will also be available in a plethora of other hip retailers such as Barneys and Colette in Paris.
