Tonight, the Canadian based Earls Kitchen + Bar is hosting a grand opening celebration (the official opening to the public is Friday if you weren’t invited to tonight’s haute party) of its second Massachusetts location (the largest one in the United States, we proudly might add) at Boston’s Prudential Center.
This Pru haute spot features a multi-level, massive 14,500 square foot space complete with a three-season rooftop patio and lounge. On the arcade level, there is an HDTV-lined bar, dubbed “The Cocktail Lab.” Head upstairs to the 300-seat dining room complete with open kitchen and “kitchen counter” space for dining, and a separate three-season rooftop bar and lounge complete with seating for 200.where you can sip cocktails under the stars.

“After some three years at the Somerville location, we had fallen in love with the city of Boston and its people,” said Mark Hladik, vice president of operations for Earls. “It’s a sophisticated market that suits our brand and our growth strategy focus. When the opportunity came up to open at the Prudential Center, we knew we would have to jump on it, especially with a 200-seat rooftop patio.”
The family-owned operation was founded by LeroyEarl (Bus) Fuller 35 years ago with their first restaurant opening in Edmonton, Alberta. Today, they operate 66 restaurants throughout Canada (56) and the United States (10) with the Prudential Center location being the tenth to open. The Boston property is the sister restaurant to the first Massachusetts location at Assembly Row in Somerville.

“The restaurant offers a diverse and globally inspired menu so you will find hearty burgers, ribs and steaks as well as a mix of salads and lighter fare,” Hladik added. “All of the tastes and flavors are covered here as we offer a mix of healthy and indulgent offerings. One of our signature dishes is steak and sushi, a marinated skirt steak with a choice of one of four different sushi rolls. At this location, we are also going to incorporate a 45-minute power lunch that will really fit the bill. We also have a smaller bar on the arcade level where we will have a guest bartender one night a week featured at The Cocktail Lab by Earls (the first will be Melinda Maddox).

Keep an eye out for locally named dishes like the Fenway Burger with battered onion rings, red pepper relish, aged white cheddar and lettuce served on a brioche bun as well as a lunch-friendly Quinoa & Avocado Powerbowl filled with roasted squash, beets, Green Goddess dressing, pumpkin seeds and crispy chickpeas.
