Mayor Tomas Regalado came out for the latest ground breaking in Miami’s Design District. He called the area Miami’s next development frontier before digging into the dirt with Manny Angelo Varas of MV Group developers. Varas will serve as both the building’s developer and general contractor, in order to execute the Harvard University Graduate School of Design alum’s vision

“We are thrilled to commence construction of this great property as it will further define the growth and appeal of the Design District,” said Varas, CEO and president of MV Group. “We are honored to contribute to the ongoing development of the area, and can’t wait to reveal our progress over the coming months.”

The building is a bit of an outlier as it’s on 41st Street and North Miami Avenue, pushing the district’s boundaries a bit. Dubbed Disegno Piazza, the project will be mixed-use with retail on the ground floor measuring 2,978 square feet. The second and third floors will house more than 6,000 square feet of office space and a luxurious rooftop deck will round out the design with  26 underground parking spaces. The option to occupy the entire building is an option as well. Metro 1 Properties is the exclusive listing agent for the development, handling tenant inquiries.
