The AAA five-diamond resort features casitas and suites in the heart of the Sonoran Desert in the foothills of Pinnacle Peak. The property is located adjacent to the Weiskopf-designed courses of Troon North. Here, you can walk amidst 40 acres of desert blooms where 210 guestrooms are tucked away with a beautiful view of Pinnacle Peak.

We recently visited and stayed in a king casita with gas fireplace that had a direct mountain view of Pinnacle Peak.

WHAT TO DO

Shop, spa, relax
The resort pays attention to every last detail here working with Mercedes Benz to offer an on-site test drive of the latest models (head out for an afternoon of shopping). The valet service here is worth a notable mention with golf cart drivers taking you directly to your room, assisting with luggage and showing you around the property. While we didn’t have a chance to book an appointment, there is an on-site spa the offers everything from a Pinnacle facial and jojoba and prickly pear body polish to a renewing scalp experience and golfer’s massage.

WHAT TO EAT

Breakfast/Lunch

We enjoyed breakfast at Proof, the on-site American restaurant that focuses on comfort food sourced from all 50 states (as a New Englander, I loved the torched maple pecan oatmeal made with steel cut oats, caramelized bananas topped with a blueberry compote). That afternoon, we headed over to the adults only pool and enjoyed some peaceful time in a private cabana. Food and drink service is also available here direct from your cabana so you can just focus on what you came here for – relaxing.

Dinner
Later that evening, we had a dinner reservation at Talavera, a modern twist on a classic steakhouse with seafood pairings. Since the focus here is on steaks, we ordered the melt-in-your-mouth 20-ounce bone-in ribeye, a deliciously flavorful cut topped with rich bone marrow butter. Sides here are served a la carte and include creamed spinach, charred corn with cotija cheese, hand cut rosemary fries with truffle aioli and lobster mac and cheese. We loved the garlic parmesan mashed potatoes a side of mixed mushrooms. The diver scallops were just as good complemented by squash blossoms, chanterelle mushrooms, fava beans and bell pepper aioli.
