Steve Terry Chef Takeover at Opera Tavern on June 1

After the success of Maria Elia’s and James Cornwall’s recent takeovers at Ember Yard, Salt Yard Group invites celebrity chef Stephen Terry of The Hardwick to its Opera Tavern restaurant on June 1.

Stephen Terry is the Executive Chef and owner of The Hardwick in Abergavenny and has worked with some of the best chefs in the world. He started his career mentored by Marco Pierre White at Harvey’s before moving on to La Gavroche to work under the direction of Michel Roux Jr. This introduction to classical French cookery became the foundation to Stephen’s own food philosophy. A season at The Breaval Old Mill under Nick Nairn and two years at The Canteen in Chelsea Harbour followed, where Stephen was awarded his first Michelin Star at the age of 25.

Chef Director of Salt Yard Group, Ben Tish worked for Stephen at both the legendary Coast restaurant in Mayfair and at Frith Street restaurant in Soho and has now invited him to join the team at Opera Tavern for one night only.

Anticipated dishes include: Middle Eastern Spiced Lamb Shoulder on Houmous with Pomegranate, Pine Nuts, Yoghurt, Coriander and ParsleyCremesquie of Kid Goat with Gentleman’s Relish and Dandelion; Confit Duck Hash with a Fried Quail’s Egg and Celeriac Remoulade and Pannacotta with Confit Tomato and Basil, to name a few.
