Paul and Swanee DiMare Honored as Big Brothers/Big Sisters’ 2015 Power Couple

Miami’s top philanthropists have been striving to create new possibilities and opportunities for the kids of Miami. These humanitarians did not go unnoticed at the annual “Miracle Makers Luncheon and Fashion Show,” hosted by the Women’s Committee of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, along with this year’s co-chairs Irene Korge, Bronwyn Miller, and Migna Sanchez-Llorens. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a donor and volunteer supported organization that transforms the lives of at-risk children through supportive adult mentor relationships. The 15th annual Luncheon took place Thursday, April 30, at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne.

The organization honored significant supporters and philanthropists including Betty Brandt; Aaron Glickman; Elysze Held; Daisy Olivera; Nathalie Cadet-James; Christina Martin; Marile Lopez; Nick D’Annunzio; Mary Louise Young; Carol Surowiec; Lucy Morillo; Marielena Villamil; and 2015 Power Couple Paul and Swanee DiMare.
Miracle Makers Power Couple Honorees Swanee and Paul DiMareThe affair included a cocktail reception, an opulent silent auction, and a luncheon, followed by a fashion show presented by internationally acclaimed designer Rene Ruiz. Attendees had the opportunity to “meet a match” and encounter the life-changing impact of mentoring. Big Brothers Big Sisters was honored to collaborate with Selecta Magazine as this year’s Media Sponsor. Esteemed celebrity stylist Danny Jelaca styled the models’ hair, while celebrity makeup artist and creator of O.P. Makeup Studio, Osvaldo Perez (known as O.P.), styled the models’ makeup for the fashion show.

An exclusionary group of BBBS supporters, by the name of Miracle Society, welcomed 22 new members at the event. The funds raised will support mentoring matches for 73 new children who had previously been on the organization’s waiting list.
