Dustin Brown returned to Los Angeles from Chicago with a spring in his step on Monday after he and his NHL team, the Los Angeles Kings, bested the Chicago Blackhawks in the Western Conference Championship to advance to the Stanley Cup playoffs.

It was a big victory for the Kings and Brown, their captain, who not only defeated the 2013 Stanley Cup winning team, but did so in overtime during Game 7, and in Chicago.

The Kings’ 5-4 Sunday victory means that the team will return to the finals for the second time in three years; they won the Cup for the first time ever in 2012.

The Los Angeles team will face off against the New York Rangers at the Staples Center in L.A. on Wednesday for the first game of the series.
