One of the country’s oldest and largest gay ski weeks returns Jan. 12, bringing hundreds to thousands of gays and lesbians to the Roaring Fork Valley for seven days of skiing, dining, parties and one night of comedy featuring Mario Cantone. Aspen Gay Ski, Jan. 12-18, includes themed parties, group dinners and skiing en masse on the four mountains that make up Aspen/Snowmass.

On Thursday, Jan. 16, Mario Cantone will perform at the Belly Up Aspen. The gay comedian, known for his role on “Sex and the City,” also has his own Tony-nominated one-man show which aired on Showtime last year.

On Saturday, Jan. 19, Aspen Gay Ski Week hosts “All for Love,” a civil union ceremony held in downtown Wagner Park. The goal is to make it the highest-altitude civil ceremony in America. Afterward, there will be a champagne reception at the Limelight Hotel.
