Entrez: Top 5 Hotel Lobbies

In Aspen/Snowmass, hotel lobbies are as common of meeting areas as the gondola. Guests linger in these areas to gather after a fun day, and locals congregate for the hip atmosphere. Here are the best hotel lobbies.

1 Viceroy Snowmass

The Viceroy Snowmass' Eight K has an 87-foot illuminated bar which extends into the hotel's lobby, enticing guests to seamlessly transition from their welcome into the inviting restaurant area. That, and the granite waterfall backdrop in the lobby, sets a precedent for the cool, luxurious treatment people will receive at this Viceroy property.

2 The Ritz-Carlton at Aspen Highlands

It's not necessarily the entrance to the Ritz-Carlton at Aspen Highlands which is impressive, but what greets guests across the room: an outdoor pool situated at the bottom Aspen Highlands. In between, guests can skim across the marble floor, grab a fresh-baked cookie and warm tea, and head outside to take in the magnificent views.

3 Hotel Jerome

When the Hotel Jerome was renovated last year by Rowland + Broughton architects and designer Todd-Avery Lenahan, careful attention was paid to the property's 125-plus year heritage. That included highlighting the iconic tile floor and historic wood-framed front desk in the lobby. Coupled with a freshly remodeled Living Room bar area, the Hotel Jerome's entrance is once again the center of Aspen action.

4 Wildwood Snowmass

Just over a year ago, the Wildwood was rundown, after-thought of a hotel in Snowmass. Today, it's a hip throwback to the '50s ski lodge, complete with vibrant, geometric color themes and bustling common areas for guests, including its lobby, where skiers and snowboarders can be found playing board games and sipping New Belgium beers after a day on the slopes.

5 Sky Hotel

The Sky Hotel, at the base of Aspen mountain, is a Kimpton property and that translates into fun once guests walk through the door. The names of dogs staying on property are listed on a chalkboard at the front desk, and a long communal table equipped with board games and a stack of the town's newspapers make guests feel at home--a trendy one--from the moment they walk in.
