The MEDDY Awards will be the world’s first medical mission red carpet awards event to honor young philanthropists and the largest medical mission fundraiser in the region. Hosted by Jose’s Hands, a Miami-based nonprofit organization supporting medical mission trips in underserved areas, the event will take place at the prestigious SLS Hotel in Hyde Beach on October 18th from 8pm to 1am. Fifteen organizations have joined forces to help raise support for future medical missions and celebrate those who have donated their time, compassion, and care to those in need. “Having 15 strong groups backing this incredibly rewarding event will make our impact that much greater on the young, emerging Miami professionals who have the power to make a difference,” said Alex Miranda, executive director and founder of Jose’s Hands.
Presented by PhilanTropic Lifestyle alongside NBC 6 reporter Kelly Blanco, the ‘Emmy Awards for Medical Missionaries’ will be honoring young philanthropists, organizations, doctors, nurses, and student associations for their medical mission contributions to society. Female powerhouse, DJ YSL along with drummer David Silva will perform together to create what David calls, “Music Ecstasy”. Attendees will also enjoy a fashion show by Warren Tricomi and Kymerah, with models showcasing medical-inspired fashion trends. Following the awards ceremony will be the Date a Doctor and Nurse Auction to raise money to fund a medical mission that will send medical students to the Dominican Republic next year.
