View from Above: A New Way to See Atlanta

VIP GondolaAtlanta’s latest tourist craze is SkyView, the 200-foot Ferris Wheel that opened recently in downtown Atlanta. Located on the corner of Luckie Street and Centennial Olympic Park Drive, SkyView Atlanta features 42 climate controlled gondolas that contain 360-degree windows. And while it may seem like an odd spot for a Ferris Wheel, it is definitely unlike one I have ever seen. In a good way.  Now, tourists and residents alike can experience Atlanta in a whole new way.

And for those of us who prefer more luxurious accommodations  the VIP gondolas are definitely the way to go. Outfitted with Ferrari leather seats and a glass bottom (for passengers to look down during the ride), the VIP units can sit five people comfortably and they even have a tv monitor and a champagne bucket.(As of now, there is no champagne, but that should change as soon as they get their liquor permit) And there’s more. When you go the VIP route, you get to skip the lines (which we heard can be very long especially on the weekends) and you get double the time in your heat/air controlled gondola.

Evening is the most beautiful time to take your flight around the city. Featuring the same lighting system as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, SkyView Atlanta has a million different LED lights that can bathe the wheel in any color you can imagine. Also, keep the event space in mind for your next soiree, big or small.  Two packages are available, one that holds up to 60 guests and the other can accommodate up to 150 guest. Both packages include a VIP ride for each guest, food and drink option, discounted parking and a 3-hour block of time all to yourselves.
