The 114’ eco-ship, PlanetSolar, has just made its way to Miami Beach’s Sunset Harbor marina. Miami is a stop on the PlanetSolar’s Deepwater Expidition world tour, which is sponsored by Université de Geneve. The all-solar powered boat looks unlike any other, with the top flat completely covered in solar panels with 29,124 cells. While the ship’s interiors skew a tad more Euro research lab than luxe, its achievement of criss-crossing the world using 0 gallons of gasoline, producing 0 CO2 emissions, is something that should affect the future of yacht building around the world.
