The Fourth Annual Pop Up Bake Sale

Currently there are more than 16 million children living in households in America that struggle to put food on the table. That’s a staggering number, it equates to 1 out of every 5 children potentially not having access to proper meals. Quite honestly it makes me sick to my stomach, which is why I’m happy that there are organizations and people out here trying to do all they can to help remedy the problem. Organizations like Share Our Strength that’s committed to alleviating childhood hunger. I’m happy to announce that My Daily Find Chicago, along with some of Chicago’s bloggers, writers and foodies, will be having the 4th Annual Chicago Pop Up Bake Sale benefiting Share Our Strength’s “No Kid Hungry” campaign.

The event will be held on Saturday, May 11th from noon to 3PM at 900 North Michigan Shops (Level 2). I personally never need a reason to head to my favorite shopping destination, but this is one of the days that make me proud of the retail center and everyone involved in making this event happen. Some of Chicago’s most talented bloggers, writers, editors, reporters and media personalities will sell their favorite home-baked goods to raise funds that will help eliminate childhood hunger here in the United States. You can head to the 900 North Michigan Shops to get you some peanut banana bread, Oreo-stuffed chocolate chip cookies and more, then stick around to watch Johanna Cook of Momma Cuisine demonstrate some of her favorite baking techniques throughout the afternoon. There will be baked goods to eat and you will be supporting a great cause, this is a win-win. And if you want a third win, you are in 900 North Michigan Shops and there’s plenty of shopping options for you before and after your stop on Level 2.
