Ben Affleck had a Hollywood ending of sorts when his film on the Iranian hostage crisis, Argo, beat Steven Spielberg‘s Lincoln and David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook to win Best Picture of the Year at Sunday night’s 85th Annual Academy Awards.
Beyond winning the coveted golden trophy, Affleck had been axed from the Best Director category, though he virtually cleaned up at every other big-name awards ceremony this season.
Incidentally, that award was won this year by Life of Pi’s Ang Lee.
