Haute New Scents for the New Year!

Could you ever fathom wearing the same sweater everyday for years?  Certainly not, so why should your scent be stuck in the same rut!  A new year is a new you as they always say.  In line with our previous posts about the resolution to change for the better this year, we’re here to suggest a few of our favorite new scents that complement the surprise cold snap in the Bay area.

Tom Ford – Ombre de Hyacinth.  Tom Ford knows how to make a woman feel sexy, from his incredible tailoring to his shocking ad campaigns.  New to the Jardin Noir florals, this fragrance gives a Gothic twist on fresh hyacinth by adding in notes of violet lead, pink pepper and musk.  It’s as brisk as freshly fallen snow but keeps you warm like baby cashmere.

Chanel – Coco Noir.   The newest member of the iconic Coco Mademoiselle line, warms us up right away with a velvetly base of rich rose, jasmine and patchouli for something all together sexy, sultry and perfect for fireside snuggling.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian – Amyris.  Playful and perky, this scent is what master perfumer Monsieur Kurkdjian envisioned as the Parsian woman.  With a blended scent comprised of Californian orange, Jamaican amyris, Florentine iris, Haitian vetiver, musky amber, this is surely to become that je ne se quoi part of you as you enter a room.

Creed – Royal Oud.  Not for the faint of heart, this unisex fragrance certainly veers more masculine with it’s spicy opening, but blends into a creamy wood that reminds us of skiing in Gstaad.  Perfect for those chilly nights in San Francisco and quickly warms up upon entering a hot party.\

Hermes – Jour d’Hermes.  Another knockout star from the house of Hermes.  Just released this holiday season, it’s perfect for the new year as it starts with vivacious citrus, then opens up to become a spring bouquet with a base of warm earthiness.  Absolutely enchanting and reminds us of a sunrise with its bright beginning and mellowing aura.
