IMAGINE PEACE is artist Yoko Ono’s global initiative against anti-violence, a public art installation that communicates the beautiful and simple message of peace to the global community.
IMAGINE PEACE consists of public art installations, presented by Art Production, which will be featured as part of the London 2012 Festival – a 12-week nationwide celebration bringing together leading artists from across the world. The London 2012 Festival will kick off June 21 and will go through September 9.
The project is built upon Yoko Ono’s IMAGINE PEACE message, translated into 24 languages, appearing on London 2012 Live Sites screens, as well as screens at Victoria Park, Hyde Park and Art on the Underground / Canary Warf. The legendary song Imagine by John Lennon will also be featured as part of this installation. Also on deck in accord to the campaign is Yoko Ono’s solo exhibition titled To the Light.
IMAGINE PEACE has made a heavy impact worldwide and it continues to grow each day. Past IMAGINE PEACE projects include the 2007 IMAGINE PEACE TOWER in Reykjavik, Iceland and the 2010 IMAGINE PEACE for PAUSE at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, produced by Art Production Fund.
Art Production Fund will be releasing special-edition IMAGINE PEACE products as part of the Works on Whatever (WOW) , a line of artist-designed everyday items. These products will be available at Selfridges during the London 2012 Festival to support and spread awareness of this project, and to support public art.
