You may already rely on Starbucks for your morning buzz, but now you may be able to rely on Starbucks for your nightcap. Some Southern Californian Starbucks will offer alcohol by the end of 2012.

Some Starbucks location in the Pacific Northwest already offer beer and wine, and by the end of 2012 a handful of locations in Southern California will be added to that list. Starbucks has not yet announced which locations will be included in this change, but they have said that it will probably be between four and six stores in both Southern California and Atlanta.

Senior Vice President for U.S. operations, Clarice Turner, says, “As our customers transition from work to home, many are looking for a warm and inviting place to unwind and connect with the people they care about. At select store where it is relevant for the neighborhood, we are focused on creating an atmosphere where our customers can relax with a friend, a small bite to eat and a cup of coffee or glass of wine.”

The new stores reportedly will offer beer, wine and an assortment of premium food offerings with additional seating for both small and large groups.
