Peruvian Restaurant La Cerveceria Opens In The East Village

Second Avenue just got a little spicier thanks to the opening of hot new Peruvian restaurant La Cerveceria. From Kyle Saliba, the spot concentrates on American craft beers and South American tapas with sharp Peruvian influences.

Crafted from the freshest ingredients available including organic and locally harvested finds, the restaurant builds upon the complex, classic flavors of Latin American. The traditional Yuca fries are the standout starter while the avocado potato cake is unique Latin American specialty that melts in your mouth . Also on the electric menu is pacific seafood, lime-influenced cilantro-specked dishes, marinated meats and hot habaneros.

The brew list is even longer specializing in their 27 American crafts beers but also offers some interesting international picks like Japan’s Hitachino Nest and Spain’s Alhambra Lager.

The cool laid back vibe of the Bowery-area location is evident in the mod-minimalism design using natural woods, red-hued accents, marble bars, and a bright open kitchen.
