Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, along with their talented kids Trey, Jaden, and Willow, comprise one of Hollywood’s most high-profile families. Recently, the Smith clan was celebrated for their amazing sense of style – and we’re not just talking clothes – by asking to be featured in the upcoming September issue of Architectural Digest.
The Smiths opened up the doors of their stunning adobe hacienda in Malibu for the spread and thereby invited the world into their home, which – according to the star couple – was a very personal project for them. Jada commented, “For Will and me this home was always a spiritual endeavor.”
She adds, “We’re very earthy, organic people. We wanted to create a family retreat, something made by hand and as natural as possible, something that ties back to the land.”
This certainly carries through to the home, as it has been worked over by hundreds of master woodworkers, plasterers, metalsmiths, stonemasons, and upholsterers of the highest expertise.
“Everything needed to be done by hand,” explained Will. “We wanted to feel the love and labor that went into every piece of this place.”
