Save the Date: ‘Artists in Action’ at the Ihilani

If you needed a reason to visit the posh JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa at Ko Olina on Oahu’s Leeward side, here it is.

The acclaimed Volcano Village Artists Hui—a group of working artists in Volcano on the Big Island—brings its “Artists in Action” program to the award-winning resort on May 21.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the artists will host free art demonstrations and hands-on activities for the public. Activities will include glass blowing, pottery making, fiber art, metal tooling, Japanese paste paper, clay sculpture and relief printmaking.

All of these artists have had works included in fine art collections and have won major awards in their chosen media. They’re the real deal.

The event is also an excuse to check out the secluded and luxurious resort, which boasts four private beach coves, a world-class marina, a championship golf course, and an award-winning (and recently reinvigorated) full-service spa that sprawls more than 35,000 square feet.
