Save the Date: Eva Longoria Hosts Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup in Miami

Put on your thinking caps and start your engines!  A cast of celebrities will be lending their support by helping you navigate the Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup event beginning Friday April 29, 2011 and continuing through Saturday at the Eden Roc Renaissance Hotel in Miami Beach.

Celebrities are slated to walk the red carpet next Friday evening starting at 7 p.m, kicking off the two-day event. Saturday’s line-up of FUNdraising will kick off with a “Start Your Engines” brunch where participants will receive a Driver’s Manual filled with tips and their first clue.  At 11:30 a.m. Honorary Chair and philanthropist, Eva Longoria will drop the checkered flag inciting a flurry of excitement on the streets of Miami where an elaborate scavenger hunt has been designed to include six exclusive pit-stops. The event will also be hosted by co-chairs and Haute 100 Miami members, Loren and JR Ridinger.

“Every child should have the chance to live a life free from pain and suffering, and enjoy a full and happy life,” states Rally for Kids with Cancer Spokesperson and Honorary Chair Eva Longoria. “I am proud to be part of the Rally for Kids with Cancer and its quest to end children’s cancer.”

Then final lap of Saturday’s race will end with “The Winner’s Circle” Gala Dinner where a silent auction and award ceremony will be held. Funds raised from this extravagant event will allow benefactor Rally for Kids with Cancer Foundation to allocate much needed help to pediatric cancer organizations dealing with research, treatment, and care of children suffering from cancer in the Miami area.

“Launched in 2008, the Rally for Kids with Cancer events have achieved incredible success, raising over seven million dollars for foundations across North America. Partnering with several worthwhile and world renowned foundations, we continue to battle children’s cancer by providing much needed funds to these charities and, most importantly, giving hope and inspiration to the children who are currently fighting for their lives,” said Joel Hock, founder of the Rally for Kids with Cancer Foundation.

With added support from Perry Ellis International, Sun Capital Partners Inc., Tiffany & Co., GREY GOOSE Vodka, and A Better Back, stars such as Bai Ling, Ivan Sergei, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Maria-Conchita Alonso, Christina Milian, and a list of others will be on hand to support the cause.
