Haute Event: Nathan Gunn at SCFTA

If you’re in the mood for a little night music, head to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, where opera superstar Nathan Gunn will perform March 24-27. As part of the center’s popular cabaret series, he’ll be playing the Samueli theater, so you can be sure that these performances will be sexy, intimate and unforgettable.

His killer combo of movie star good looks and show stopping voice are just one reason to see these special shows, but after you hear this crooner, you’ll see why he’s critically acclaimed, too. As one of the most in-demand baritones today, Gunn has taken the stage at the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Royal Opera House and the Paris Opera.

He’ll be singing favorites and new material from his latest album, Just Before Sunrise, which includes standard and the latest from contemporary composers, too.

Gunn’s ventures outside the world of opera include a run in Camelot with the New York Philharmonic, which was broadcast live on PBS’s and Show Boat at Carnegie Hall. He also performed at the New York Philharmonic’s 80th birthday gala celebration for Stephen Sondheim, so you know when he takes the stage here in Orange County, he’ll be bringing the whole package — that world class voice and those stunning good looks alongside a performance that’s sure to bring you to your feet.

The Segerstrom Center for the Arts is located at 600 Town Center Dr., in Costa Mesa.
