Music Makers: The Academy Performers at South Coast Plaza

Some say that the sweetest sound is the steady ticking of a well made watch — and you’d definitely agree if you’ve ever had or seen one of Breguet’s elegant creations, but this weekend at South Coast Plaza, the Academy Performers will be staging special performances as part of The Sound of Breguet. So while beautiful watches sound pretty amazing, you can be sure that the music from these renowned performers will be just as sweet.

Friday and Saturday at both 12:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., the Academy Performers will be playing in Jewel Court, which is right at the intersection of your favorite stores — Fendi, Ralph Lauren, Max Mara and Armani. A collaborative program between Juilliard, the Weill Music Institute and Carnegie Hall, the string quartets will be hosting performances open to the public. The program allows students to perform and gain musicianship as they prepare to be top performers, teachers and innovative programmers in the future.

Presented in the round, the stage is surrounded by Breguet timepieces, so while you enjoy the music, you can keep time in style.

South Coast Plaza is located at 3333 Bristol St. in Costa Mesa. For more information on the performances, call 714.435.2000 or visit the center’s official web site at www.soutcoastplaza.com. For more information on Breguet, visit their official web site at www.breguet.com.
