Since Art Los Angeles Contemporary (ALAC) launched in 2010, it has gained notoriety as one of the most influential contemporary art fairs with a strong community sentiment that champions Los Angeles as a major contemporary art destination. It was an instant hit with major dealers, curators and collectors.

This year, 70 galleries from 11 countries will be exhibiting at ALAC, including Galerie Jette Rudolph from Berlin, and The Hole from New York. Of course, there will be a plethora of local galleries as well – like Jancar Gallery in Chinatown. For the 2011 edition of the fair, ALAC has partnered with the famed Los Angeles restaurant Forage to bring their first ever pop-up restaurant to the west side as part of the fair.

Go. Look. And be prepared to be: amused, amazed, and perhaps, even a little shocked.

Art Los Angeles Contemporary will take place from January 27-30 at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica.
