Saying people in this town love their Dunkin’ Donuts and their Starbucks coffee is an understatement.  To many, it is even a religion. But that’s not to say we shun other purveyors of fine coffee bean beverage treats.  With all the caffeine we consume, there is room for everyone at our coffee table. And so, setting aside the national chains for a moment, Haute Living presents the top 5 coffee shops in and around Boston.

1 Pavement Coffeehouse

Open in April of 2010, Pavement Coffeehouse has made itself known quickly to neighborhood java junkies and Berkeley students in need of a jolt before jazz ensemble. With a funky, and pristinely clean interior, the eclectic seating is as inviting as the tasty coffee treats, sandwiches and sweets. Coffee is king here and thankfully, not an after thought.  Great spot for espresso and other specialty drinks.

2 1369 Coffee House

A visit to 1369 feels like a visit to the home a friend that just knows how to make a killer drink.  A cozy interior coupled with well thought out specialty drinks and homemade goodies all add up to a warming experience, even on the chillest of New England days. Great spot to meet up with your non-coffee drink friends as well as their selection of teas, chais, hot chocolates and steamed milks are equally impressive.
