Haute Event: Cast of The Lion King Celebrates at Mix Lounge at Mandalay Bay

On Friday, Oct. 22, the Las Vegas cast of Disney’s “The Lion King” joined together at the trendy miX Lounge at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay to celebrate the launch of their new Friday evening performances. The cast, which includes Kissy Simmons as “Nala,” Derrick Williams as “Mufasa,” Thom Sesma as “Scar,” Buyi Zama as “Rafiki” and Jenali Remy as “Simba,” mingled with friends and fans and toasted to the show’s unprecedented success.

“The Lion King” debuted on Broadway in Oct. 1997 and has since then won more than 70 awards including the Tony Award for Best Musical. It is Broadway’s eighth longest-running show in history and has been performed all over the world including London, Toronto, Los Angeles, Australia, South Korea, Paris, Mexico City, Tokyo and South Africa.

Its Las Vegas production recently celebrated its one-year anniversary in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay. The addition of 7:30 p.m. performances on Fridays will only further increase the number of people can see the phenomenal cast in action.
