Category: Thinkers

Company: DreamWorks SK

Industry: Film

What Makes Her Haute: Ranked as one of the 50 most important women in business, Snider is co-chairman of DreamWorks with Spielberg. The company recently ended its two-year partnership with Paramount, and it is now full-speed ahead as they strive to meet their goal of four to six films per year. Universal is lined up as the film distribution partner.

What Makes Her Haute Now: Snider is taking her business brainpower overseas to London as the keynote speaker of Variety’s Future of Film Summit. The annual conference, which will take place Nov. 9 at London’s West Hollywood Hotel, is dedicated to keeping up with the ever changing movie business. Digital Media Wire co-produces the conference series which will cover such pertinent topics as spanning development, financing, production, distribution and promotion. It will also explore developing issues like online and video-on-demand distribution, 3D graphics, and social media marketing. Snider was chosen to headline the keynote conversation because of her expansive experience in the movie industry. She was previously the chairman of Universal Pictures and she currently oversees DreamWorks’ business strategy, including the creative and financial planning for production. Since joining DreamWorks in 2008 Snider has administered the production of Dream Girls, Sweeny Todd, and Tropic Thunder, among others. The studio already has next year’s six film lineup set with I Am Number Four, Cowboys and Aliens, War Horse, The Help, Fright Night, and Real Steel. No doubt Snider will have a wealth if information to impart to the film industry enthusiasts in attendance.
