Gloria & Emilio Estefan

Category: Power Couples

Company: Estefan Enterprises

Industry: Entertainment

What Made Them Haute: Recently honored with the Jay Malina Award for their lifetime achievements and notable contributions to the growth of the arts, entertainment, and hospitality industries in Miami-Dade County, the Estefans, in addition to being ridiculously talented crossover artists with decades-long careers, are actively involved in the betterment of our community. Their company, which was founded in Miami Beach in 1986, has grown into a global entertainment empire spanning across numerous industries.

What Makes Them Haute Now: Both Gloria and Emilio Estefan have been keeping busy these days with their collaborative business ventures, as well as their individual talents and pursuits. The Cuban-American couple recently opened a comedy club inside their Vero Beach resort, Coasta d’Este. Emilio will be one of the authors featured at this year’s Miami Book Fair International for his book, The Rhythm of Success. The book imparts Emilio’s principles for success and guides readers on how to build a business or further the business they already have. As a Cuban refugee who went on to become a 19-time Grammy Award-winning producer, Emilio has a lot to share with readers about achieving their own American Dream. Gloria will be showcasing her vocal talent at the Opening Night Ceremony for the 2010 US Open. She was especially chosen because this year the US Open is celebrating those who Dream Succeed and Inspire. Gloria embodies this theme since she too was a Cuban immigrant who made it big as a singer and inspired many after she made a comeback from a life-threatening accident. No doubt the Estefans will continue to succeed as they undertake their multiple business endeavors.
