Salma Hayek is married to PPR head honcho François-Henri Pinault, so it really shouldn’t come as a surprise to see the leading actress hit red carpet premieres in any number of the luxury company’s many brands. There’s Gucci, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, Sergio Rossi, Boucheron, Bottega Venetta, and many more top tier luxury brands in PPR’s impressive portfolio.
And with the 63rd Annual Cannes Film Festival underway, we can expect to see any variety of ravishing styles light up the carpet. On May 12, Gucci dressed Hayek for the premiere of Robin Hood.
But what’s better than the premiere of a hotly anticipated new film featuring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett? The premiere of a new couture gown from one of fashion’s favorite designers, of course. That’s right. Salma Hayek was lucky enough to wear the first couture gown from the Gucci Première collection designed by Creative Director Frida Giannini. The floor length Bordeaux silk georgette one shoulder gown with hip, back, and shoulder drape detail features deep red crystal embroidery at the shoulder and waist. Hayek completed the look with Gucci black satin peep toe heels and a Gucci black satin clutch. In a word, she looked sublime.
