Women of Tomorrow Annual Gala at Mandarin Oriental This Weekend

On Saturday, March 20, the Mandarin Oriental will play host to the Women of Tomorrow Mentor and Scholarship Program’s annual gala.

The theme is springtime, so guests should expect to see a bright and hopeful color palette of reds and oranges in the table linens, flowers, mirrors, and chandeliers, transforming the hotel’s ballroom into an explosion of vibrancy. Indeed, no expense will be spared for the 500 guests, comprised of Women of Tomorrow mentors, mentees, and program graduates, as well as Miami’s top VIPs and philanthropists.

Those fortunate enough to be in attendance will be treated to a live performance by Telemundo star and Billboard-nominated actor/singer JenCarlos Canela, as well as the musical stylings of Miami’s own Steve Chase Band. In addition, there will be a live auction managed by WPLG Channel 10’s Calvin Hughes and Neki Mohan, involving more than 100 desirable items from luxury brands such as Prada, Cartier, Neiman Marcus, Sony Ericsson, The Miami Heat, the Miami Dolphins, and many more.

Guests will indulge in specialty cocktails and an elaborate four-course meal designed by the Mandarin Oriental’s executive chef, Didier Pouzier, and a photographer will be on hand to capture all the fabulousness for posterity.

Highly deserving of a celebration, the Women of Tomorrow is a noble cause that inspires, motivates, and empowers approximately 2,000 at-risk young women. Mentees have increased self-esteem, a 90 percent high school graduation rate, and increased academic performance each year they are in the program. Women of Tomorrow has awarded $2.3 million in scholarships to 841 deserving mentees.

“At a time when people all over are losing jobs, it is more important than ever that we provide a way for our girls to receive the skills and higher education necessary to succeed in a modern world,” said founder Jennifer Valoppi. “We are extremely grateful for the continued generosity of our supporters, and are looking forward to an incredible gala.”
