Top Five orGLAMic Fashion Finds for Spring

Welcome to the first weekly installment of “orGLAMic Top Fives” on Haute Living.com. Each day, I scour the marketplace for items that represent “sustainable luxury living.” Here I will give you, my discerning readers, the crème de la crème that the eco-industry has to offer. Because the end of this week marks the beginning of springtime, let’s take a look at some of the chicest wardrobe necessities for the upcoming season.

Stella McCartney

If you are a regular orGLAMic reader, you’ll know that I generally have an aversion to prints and color (especially in the same item!). Somehow though, this Spring Floral Camellia dress has taken my breath away with its delicate yet hip design. Made of eco-friendly linen, it is ideal for any bridal shower, brunch, or outdoor gathering with friends. ($1,195)

Prairie Underground

Featuring organic cotton and hemp throughout their lines, Prairie Underground has been creating orGLAMic fashion since 2005. The Spring 2010 collection offers this adorable romper, Romp Around The Clock, which is perfect for a day by the pool or a quick trip to the farmers market.

Organic by John Patrick

Year after year John Patrick wows Bryant Park with his eco-friendly runway collection. Next year we look forward to welcoming him to the new home at Lincoln Center. Until then, get in on the trend this spring with this understated outfit straight off the runway. When he first debuted this collection, he explained that he was inspired by the idea of a 1920s speakeasy, using the word Bohemian in his descriptions. I’m loving it and could definitely see this look, head to toe, at a dinner with coworkers or an equally subdued affair.

Krisa

Whether it is an early retreat to Capri or Punta Mita, what springtime would be complete without a jaunt to the beach? These eco-luxe linen pants made of natural flax fiber have a flattering fit for all (in case you’re not quite yet in bikini shape) and have recently been featured with rave reviews on orGLAMic. ($99)

Loomstate

For a casual chilly evening, say movie night or drinks on the patio, this 100 percent organic cotton button-down shirt makes you look pulled together with ease.  Just add a pair of slim, dark denim jeans and gold ballet flats to rock this Horizon Pintuck Shirt in the most orGLAMic way. ($128)
