School is in at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay

If it’s been a while since you’ve been in school, don’t cringe at the thought because this will be one educational experience that you do not want to miss.

The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay is all set for spring classes at Eno-Versity, with none other than head sommelier Ian Cauble leading the class. This is a rare opportunity to learn from the best, and we aren’t throwing that compliment around lightly. Wine & Spirits named Sommelier Cauble the “Best New Sommelier in the United States” in late 2008, and he took home a fourth-place spot in the “Best Young Sommelier in America” competition in June, 2009. And we can guarantee that he has only gotten better since that time.

While he will be your teacher for one of the most tasty and fun classes of your educational career, Cauble will continue to enhance his own industry knowledge as the winner of the coveted Rudd Scholarship for master sommelier candidates seeking certification this year.

Ready for the official word describing the curriculum? The lowdown is that this school will be an interactive experience that is limited to eight guests per session and priced at $150 plus tax per adult. Classes will include:

  • 8 to 10 wines
  • appetizers
  • interactive wine instruction providing photos, maps, and more
  • education about wine history, types of grapes, and region of origin
