While many of our younger readers may think that the notion of saving the earth was born with Al Gore, Americans have actually been officially celebrating all of the glories that Mother Nature has to offer—even if just one day each year—for 40 years now.
On April 22, 2010, anyone with a conscience (or a fear of PC repercussions) will join together to honor the 40th annual celebration of Earth Day.
While in decades past this may have been thought of as a bash for Birkenstock-lovers, in the 21st century, we have finally wised up enough to realize that a celebration of the earth can go hand-in-hand with the luxury lifestyle (we promise! Check out our weekly orGLAMic posts for confirmation).
