No matter what season it is, hair loss can be emotionally distressing, whether you're personally experiencing it or supporting a loved one who is. Many individuals might not be ready for surgical interventions, and the good news is that recent advancements in regenerative medicine provide an effective non-surgical solution. Exosomes, a stem cell-derived technology, offer hope to those dealing with hair loss. This procedure doesn't involve surgery; it consists of exosome injections, a clinically proven treatment for both men and women in the earlier stages of hair loss. Exosome therapy kickstarts natural hair growth within 1 to 3 months, with continued progress over a year.
Exosomes are not living cells; they're tiny fat droplets produced by stem cells, packed with millions of growth factors vital for tissue regeneration. This one-hour procedure has minimal post-treatment restrictions, excluding NSAID medications (like aspirin or Motrin). Unlike PRP injections, there's no need for blood drawing, a relief for many patients. Exosomes effectively combat various types of hair loss, including male- and female-pattern hair loss, post-COVID hair loss, and stress-induced hair loss. Say goodbye to the emotional burden of hair loss with this innovative, non-surgical solution.

As the holiday season draws near, a noticeable trend in the realm of aesthetics is the increasing focus on skin rejuvenation and repair. With reduced sun exposure during the colder months, individuals are seizing the opportunity to address sun damage and combat brown spots, aiming for a flawless complexion in time for the festivities. This seasonal shift has led to heightened interest in treatments like resurfacing lasers, which are gaining popularity. Many are now opting for a combination approach, coupling resurfacing lasers with skin-tightening procedures. This combination not only enhances skin texture and minimizes superficial lines but also addresses concerns such as open pores and loose skin. The quest for a radiant, refreshed appearance is a prevalent theme as people prepare to look their best during the holiday season.

As the holiday season approaches our team at PURE Plastic Surgery and PURE Aesthetic Center are seeing emerging trends in self-care for our patients. Minimally invasive skin repairing treatments are popular as our patients prepare to entertain during the holidays, attend fundraisers, and galas, and travel to visit with family and friends. Many are looking to undo facial damage caused by the summer sun with Morpheus8, reduce wrinkles and fine lines with Botox, and plump-up lips with Juvaderm and Restylane fillers. For those planning warm winter holidays, getting rid of stubborn cellulite is a major focus and they are opting for Aveli to smooth out hips and thighs just in time to wear swimsuits at the beach and lounge around the pool.
While patients have time off of work, quite a few plan breast surgeries during the holiday season as a present to themselves. Breast implants have a short healing time and recovery is quick with minimal pain, which makes them a perfect choice during the holidays. We also perform many of our signature South Beach Butt Lifts (SoBeBLs) for patients who find recovery easier when the weather is cooler, family is around to help with post-operative care, and their lives aren’t as consumed with work.

Beautiful and healthy skin is the best accessory to have all year round. The holiday season is no exception as you run into family and/or friends that you may have not seen for a few months or a few years and it’s wonderful to receive a compliment from the people you trust and love.
Typically fall season is the perfect time to eliminate unwanted sun damage accumulated during the summer and the most perfect procedure for any skin type is the PicoSure laser, which is the Rolls Royce of skin rejuvenation. PicoSure’s super effective Focus Lens Array creates microscopic, photomechanical reactions in the epidermis that communicate with the dermis, leading to increased collagen and elastin in the skin with virtually no downtime and is safe on all skin types.
The results of any procedure are greatly dependent on the perfect match between the right candidate, the right tool, and the experience of the provider. Dr. Avaliani has been the leading PicoSure expert since 2016 with her expertly tailored protocols for each patient she treats. At her Park Avenue office, she cares for women and men from the worlds of entertainment, sports, modeling, and business industries who cannot have any downtime with their super busy schedules.

Now that we are leading up to the holiday season, we are seeing a few trends with patients at our practice. While surgery always remains busy in our practice, we are noticing that the non-surgical rejuvenation options are ramping up because patients want to look great over the holidays and not have significant “downtime.” Many of our patients are coming in for their pre-holiday “refresh” and doing things now like lasers and aesthetician services for their skin and our non-surgical facial rejuvenation options like neuromodulators and fillers. By coming in now at the start of the holidays, they give all of their treatments time to settle, so they look fantastic when they see friends and family next. Since we are only a month or two away from the end of the year, many of these non-surgical options will last throughout this time and into the new year! It’s a new year and why not start with a “new you!”

As the holiday season approaches, an emerging aesthetic trend I am observing is minimal and no downtime facial procedures that get your skin glowing for that holiday party. The best type of weekend laser peel is the Sciton Nanopeel. This is a superficial peel that will quickly vanish layers of dry and dull skin to give that holiday glow. Get this peel mid-week and be ready to shine for the weekend. Combine this peel with a Broad Band Light (BBL) photo-facial to get the ultimate quick fix makeover. BBL is a no-downtime treatment to wipe away browns and reds in your skin and give you that flawless photo finish. Hydrafacial is another treatment that is very popular in our office as the holidays approach. Many patients upgrade their treatments to include lymphatic drainage massage to reduce swelling and promote circulation, as well as LED light therapy with the LightStim device to give their skin a more youthful and radiant appearance.

At my Tysons clinic this time of year, men and women are seeking ways to refresh and rejuvenate themselves in time for the holidays. The popularity of in-office procedures, including the mini facelift, upper eyelid lift, double chin liposuction, and labiaplasty, has seen a significant uptick. These are all treatments I can perform under local anesthesia, with minimal downtime and truly remarkable results.
Nanofat is also breaking into the plastic surgery scene this season. Contrary to its name, it does not contain any fat, but rather pure stem cells, growth factors, and peptides extracted from the fat. When injected into areas of the face, it promotes the production of collagen and elastin with never-before-seen results for skin regeneration. I can perform nanofat transfer in my office under local anesthesia or do it in combination with a larger facial rejuvenation procedure under general anesthesia. I particularly love to pair a lower blepharoplasty with nanofat grafting under the eyes — it completely rejuvenates the eyes.
There is also a surge in demand for non-invasive treatments such as Botox, fillers, Morpheus8 skin tightening, and the PICO Glow Facial. These procedures, loved by Hollywood celebrities, are accessible to patients at my clinic. The standout feature is the PICO Glow Facial, an innovative laser designed to combat fine lines, sunspots, and hyperpigmentation. The treatment stimulates collagen production, leaving the skin with a radiant, natural glow, all without any downtime or discomfort.

As we head into the holidays, patients immediately start looking towards the summer! Breast and body surgery becomes very popular immediately after the holidays and usually continues through the spring. Procedures such as breast augmentation, breast lift, tummy tuck, and liposuction are the top procedures that patients look for in the winter and spring. My advice if you want to look your best and be completely healed for the summer is to start thinking about booking your consultation before it’s too late. Give yourself plenty of time to visit multiple surgeons and have your surgery at least 3 months before planning any days at the beach or pool.

As we embrace the holiday season, several emerging aesthetic trends are gaining momentum in my field of expertise. Non-invasive procedures continue to be popular, with a surge in demand for treatments such as dermal fillers and Botox to achieve subtle facial enhancements. The focus is shifting towards a more natural and refreshed appearance, emphasizing individual beauty.
Moreover, personalized skincare routines are on the rise, with patients seeking tailored solutions to address specific concerns. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments for facial rejuvenation and hair restoration are also gaining traction due to their regenerative properties.
In the realm of technology, advanced laser therapies are becoming increasingly sought after for skin resurfacing and addressing pigmentation issues. Additionally, there's a growing interest in holistic approaches that encompass both physical and mental well-being, aligning with the overall trend of a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
These evolving trends reflect a harmonious blend of innovation, individualization, and a holistic approach to aesthetics as we approach the festive season.

In our practice, we have noticed our patients want very personalized treatment plans and procedures. The personalization trend in the aesthetics industry involves tailoring cosmetic treatments and procedures to individual preferences, anatomy, and specific aesthetic goals. This trend is driven by advancements in technology, a growing demand for individualized experiences, and the desire for natural-looking results.
The customization of treatment plans can address specific concerns, such as wrinkles, fine lines, volume loss, or skin texture, based on individual needs. This may involve a combination of various non-invasive or minimally invasive procedures.
Modalities like chemical peels, microneedling, and laser treatments can be tailored to an individual's skin type and concerns, promoting more effective and targeted results. Clear communication and an understanding of the client's preferences help create a personalized experience from the initial consultation to the post-treatment follow-up.
It's important to note that trends in the med spa industry can evolve rapidly, with new technologies and techniques continually emerging. As always make sure to consult with your provider for information about any treatment you are considering as well as your specific goals.

Recently, I've observed a trend of more people opting for facelifts, and it's easy to understand why. Nowadays, we have cameras everywhere and are surrounded by photos and videos. The way we present ourselves can significantly impact our self-esteem and professional opportunities. I see it in my patients, friends, and family, and through the media. There's an increasing pressure to maintain a youthful and vibrant image. For me, watching this shift towards facelifts is all about confidence. The camera can be unforgiving, highlighting every line and our imperfections, which is why a facelift is a great option for those looking to rejuvenate their appearance.
The trend towards the facelift is about self-care and a way for people to connect their external appearance with their inner feelings. For a lot of my facelift patients, it is about feeling in control and presenting a face to the world that reflects how I feel inside - dynamic, energized, positive, and ready for the camera. I love the process of helping my patients feel more confident when they walk into their next board meeting or for their upcoming holiday photos.

In the lead-up to the holiday season, I've noticed a rising trend in procedures focused on rapid recovery within my field. Patients are increasingly seeking subtle enhancements that accentuate their natural beauty just in time for festive celebrations. The demand for quick, effective treatments such as filler and Botox has surged, allowing individuals to enhance facial features with minimal to no downtime. Additionally, there's a growing interest in liposuction for body contouring, characterized by a remarkably brief recovery period. Many of my patients are returning to their regular routines within a week after these procedures, emphasizing the popularity of swift, yet impactful, aesthetic interventions during the holiday season.

As the holiday season approaches, many of our patients request whitening treatments to get that sparkling smile to feel comfortable with their friends and families, as well as have great photos and selfies. Whitening treatments can be a great option, but we emphasize that a thorough teeth and gum cleaning about 10 days before professional whitening will give the best results. If there is plaque buildup, inflamed gums, decay, or fractured teeth, these do need to be addressed before professional whitening. A thorough cleaning – our office has a revolutionary treatment from Switzerland that mixes air, water, and powder – with warm water giving a comfortable cleaning experience, as well as removing deep surface stains from coffee and other stain-producing habits that not only gives the teeth a few shades lighter on its own, but also removes the biofilm of bacteria for healthy teeth and gums. At this point, when professional whitening is done, the patients get better results with a more comfortable experience. Both from a health standpoint and the cosmetic outcome, your oral health will thank you as you will look and feel great at the same time!

In addition to extravagant meals, colorful lights, and joyful family gatherings, the holiday season is the time for college student rhinoplasties. My busiest week as a rhinoplasty expert is always the week between Christmas and New Year's. Rhinoplasty generally has a one to two-week recovery period where black and blue, swelling, tape, and splints are present. Coincidentally, the college winter break is approximately four weeks long. As a result, many of my 17 to 21-year-old rhinoplasty patients choose to recover in the company of Netflix, leftovers, gifts, and their families. And when they return to college in January, they return with a new sense of confidence and a strong desire to succeed. Rhinoplasty has a unique ability to enhance beauty and increase self-confidence due to the location of the nose in the center of the face. By removing distractions and improving proportions, the focus of the face can be transferred from the nose to the eyes. This in turn allows the natural beauty of the face to be seen. Just be sure to do your research. Rhinoplasty is one of the most difficult procedures in the world of plastic surgery and not all rhinoplasty surgeons are created equal.

As the holiday season nears, the aesthetic surgery field is seeing distinct trends influenced by post-pandemic lifestyle changes. Minimally invasive facial rejuvenation treatments, such as Botox, fillers, and laser therapies, are increasingly popular. These procedures require little downtime and offer quick results, aligning well with the busy nature of the season.
Subtle enhancements, often referred to as 'tweakments', are also on the rise. These less invasive approaches are favored for their ability to provide natural-looking, refreshed appearances. The trend reflects a growing preference for enhancements that are not overly dramatic.
The ongoing use of video conferencing is driving demand for 'Zoom face' treatments. People are more aware of their on-screen appearance, leading to increased interest in neck lifts, eyelid surgeries, and skin resurfacing procedures.
Additionally, body contouring remains a sought-after category, with treatments like liposuction and tummy tucks being popular for their effective and quick results. Overall, the current trends in aesthetic surgery emphasize personalized, subtle changes, catering to a desire for natural aesthetics and efficiency.
