HB: What is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is an FDA approved treatment to lift in the face and neck. It is also used to lift and tighten in other areas of the body, such as the abdomen and buttock.

HB: Do you prefer it to other methods?

I like this treatment as it is non-invasive and done easily in the office. There is no downtime associated with the procedure and patients can resume their normal activity right after.

HB: Who is a good candidate?

Just about anybody can get Ultherapy. There are no skin color or age restrictions. On the other hand, it is not a substitute for surgery. A consultation would determine which is best for the patient.

HB: How does the procedure/treatment work?

Ultherapy uses ultrasound to create micro-thermal injuries underneath the skin. These microscopic burn injuries turn on the the body's healing mechanism and results in collagen deposition which lifts and tightens. It can lift eyebrows, soften undereye bags, and contour the jaw and neck lines to name a few benefits.

HB: What does recovery look like?

As I mentioned there is no specific downtime associated with the procedure and patients can resume their normal activity right away. That said, the results do not come immediately. As the treatment is predicated on the patient's healing, it takes 3-6 months to see the results. The good news is that those results last about 18-24 months which is a "lomg time" in the non- and minimslly-invasive aesthetic world. It's a super-popular, and more importantly, effective in-office treatment that can discretely be done wihtout making you miss a beat. Just ask Christie Brinkley!
