Pushpa Basnet of Nepal was awarded the highest honor last night at CNN Heroes: An All Star Tribute in LA after she was named "Hero of the Year." Though host Anderson Cooper announced the award, earlier in the even Susan Sarandon had presented Basnet $50,000 in recognition for her work with her nonprofit organization, the Early Childhood Development Center.
