Nick Betancourt

Born in Monticello, NY and grew up on what is now a natural preserve in the Catskill Mountains. After which in 1980 my family moved to Miami and was raised as a local but with one foot in the U.S. and another foot in Colombia, South America. Being born into a highly political family exposed me to cultures of a more global scale and influenced my disposition to embrace them all. When I decided it was time to return to the U.S. I began working for the Casino Princessa and the Atlantic Casino heading up their Marketing and Public Relations department, where I helped them increase their revenue and exposure. I help them create their brand through producing events where celebrities were common place and associate them with names such as Enrique Iglesias, Sean “P-Diddy” Combs, Gloria and Emilio Estefan and countless Latin singers and actors. This lead into writing published releases and began exposure in writing and producing for television. Writing and Producing became a joy and flourished into a talk show on Spanish TV and working in house for my first luxury publication. Charities are a large portion of my life and sitting on the board of Joshua’s Heart Foundation is a small part of what I do to give back to our community. I am also involved closely with other numerous charitable organizations and encourage those around me to do the same for the betterment of our city. I currently Co-Host and Co-Produce “Roast or Toast” on The Beach Channel and I produce “The Scene” segments which are all luxury, lifestyle and entertainment segments. My show has given me access to countless celebrities, luxury brands, socialites, galas and fundraisers as well as all the hot and new openings and trends in South Florida. I still pursue and enjoy writing and being published re-assures me that I am on the right path. So I continue to dredge forward.

Haute Event: Porsche 911 Speedster Unveiled at The Collection

This past weekend The Collection held an exclusive event extended solely to collectors of rare automobiles and Haute Living Magazine. The Collection brought in and unveiled the new 911 Porsche Speedster inspired from the 1953 classic Speedster. The Exclusive & Tequipment division of Porsche sent their factory representative Michael Siegloch from Germany to tell us about the highlights and features that set the 2011 911 Speedster apart from all other 911 models. As Michael began describing the 911 Speedster, I realized this is the latest version of the nostalgic Speedster from 1953 that most Americans relate to those black and white images we see of James Dean in Rebel with Without a Cause.
