Five Haute Places to Watch the Blue Angels During Fleet Week

In case you haven’t heard, Fleet Week is back and so are the US Navy Blue Angels. Last year, government cutbacks robbed us of this annual opportunity to pay tribute to the men and women of our nation’s armed forces. Love them for the impressive thrills they provide or hate them for the noise they create. You can catch the Blue Angels practice Friday from 3 to 4 p.m. But the real show happens Saturday and Sunday when air shows take place from 12:30 to 3 p.m., followed by the Blue Angels from 3 to 4 p.m. Here are five haute places to enjoy the excitement.

Fashion doesn’t stand still for baseball. Not even the San Francisco Giants. While many of you cheered on the orange and black on Oct. 7, more than 120 fashion-forward folks flocked to Union Square for a bash celebrating the grand re-opening of Burberry’s flagship store. The Haute Michael Mina Tailgate Experience at Levi’s Stadium

It’s hard to tell who’s having a better time — celebrity chef Michael Mina or the 49ers foodie fans who flock to the exclusive Michael Mina Tailgate at Bourbon Steak & Bourbon Pub at Levi’s Stadium on game days to enjoy a pregame tailgate experience like no other in the NFL. We checked out the ridiculously expensive feast last Sunday and were blown away with the fare, fun and fabulousness of it all. Do we dare say it is worth the $500 per person? Uh, yeah. It’s haute!

Bigger and Hauter Marlowe Reopens Tonight in New Location

Marlowe, the beloved neighborhood restaurant in SoMA, reopens on Oct. 2 in its new location on the corner of Brannan and 4th Street and sporting a full bar, expanded menu and new services. We were on the scene last night for a haute preview party and loved what we saw — and ate. The soon-to-open burger window will be a big hit. Co-owner Anna Weinberg is calls it “Marlowe 2.0.”

The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco Turns Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

You’ll think you’re wearing rose-colored glasses when you see The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco in October. That’s because the stately hotel on Nob Hill has teamed up with the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund and will go pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The hotel’s exterior will turn pink on Oct. 1 and remain that hue throughout the month, when pink cocktails and a Pink Afternoon Tea will be offered. That’s why The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco is our haute hotel of the month.
