Last night, Paul Smith celebrated 25 years on this side of the pond. The British designer welcomed well-heeled friends of the brand to his first boutique in Manhattan; 108 Fifth Avenue. Attendees included host Sir Paul Smith, Patti Smith, Patricia Field, Simon Doonan, Glenda Bailey, Kate Schelter, Chris Schumacher, Will Blanchard, Siobhan Fahey and Grace Coddington.

Last night, The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced the nominees, honorees and host for the 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards. The exclusive kickoff event was hosted by the council’s president Diane von Furstenberg and Swarovski Crystals, at the DVF studio in the Meatpacking District.

The Friends of the Israeli Defense Force (FIDF) organization raised an impressive $26 million at its annual tribute dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria last night. Proceeds from the event will be invested in social and educational programming, economic support for soldiers, aid for bereaved families, subsidies for soldiers and beyond

According to the Wall Street Journal, chef Cesar Ramirez and the owners of Brooklyn Fare are opening another installment of their much-loved restaurant/grocery store. The new space is reportedly on 39th Street between 9th and 10th avenues in Manhattan.
