The 4th Annual Doggies on a Catwalk is a unique benefit fashion show highlighting the talents of student designers enrolled in Grady High School’s acclaimed fashion program, UrbanCouture. Created by Fashionado founder E. Vincent Martinez, “Doggies on the Catwalk” benefits Pets Are Loving Support (PALS), an Atlanta area organization that provides pet-care, including free food and basic veterinary, care, and support to the companion pets of critically ill and disabled Atlantans.

Over 200 of Atlanta’s VIPs gathered in the new fashion boutique of Emerlyn & Ester for the grand opening soiree on Tuesday night. Emerlyn & Ester is the latest fashion venture by R&B superstar Ne-Yo and his significant other (and new mother of their beautiful baby girl) Monyetta Shaw. The night was spectacular from the red carpet to the Remy Martin cocktails and ultimately the toast to the couple with Armand de Brignac’s Ace of Spades Champagne.

Atlanta-based and nationally known jewelry designer Mickey Lynn held quite the festive party last night at her brand new renovated Bennett Street studio in Atlanta. Just in time for the holiday season, guests mingled and ogled at her newest line of jewelry. Cocktails and delicious appetizers were served throughout the evening and I am pretty sure no one went home empty handed.

Then a few months ago, I spotted a sign that said The Daiquiri Factory. Recently, I decided to stop in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised as well as a little (actually a lot ) tipsy. The concept, as you can tell by the name, is Daiquiris, and the whole theme of the Midtown restaurant is Island Oasis. Wood floors, bamboo-esque bars and fans made out of wooden leaves are the main decorating elements of the spot. But it is the daiquiris, ranging from strong, very strong to lethal that take the prize.
