Fifty years after her death, Marilyn Monroe still lingers in the minds of people as an iconic actress and sex symbol in the 21st Century. In honor of her and the impact she’s had on pop-culture, the Getty Images Gallery is showcasing an exhibit featuring rare photos and dresses worn by the starlet.

Cai Guo-Qiang sure knows how to make a bang with his art exhibits. While the Chinese artist lived in Japan during the late 80’s and early 90’s, he began to experiment with gunpowder in his drawings. Soon experimentation led to profession. Cai is renowned for his massive scale explosive exhibits.

The J. Paul Getty Museum already has an extensive collection of Ansel Adams photographs, boasting 40 in all. But on Monday, the museum’s repertoire grew. A local couple donated 25 more photographs, keeping their word on a promise made by their late parents to Adams.
