Mary Wilson of the Supremes to Headline “Generations” Concert

The Nat King Cole Generation Hope Inc. is devoted to bringing music back into schools by providing resources such as instruments, trained instructors and state-of-the-art equipment.  Nat King Cole himself, one of the most popular Jazz musicians ever, was a product of the arts curriculum in his school.  But things have changed, in the past five years; children’s access to music in schools has dropped 50% according to overall reports.

To stop and curb this decline, the Nat King Cole foundation has raised money over the years through concerts benefiting the fight against the loss of arts in schools.  Tomorrow, March 8, the foundation is holding “Generations” headlined by impressive list of performers.

The most notable of these is the Supremes’ Mary Wilson.  The Motown songstress is an original diva and she has toured and released singles steadily since the 1960’s.  Wilson will grace the stage this Thursday benefitting the Nat King Cole Foundation.

As well as Wilson, the ten-year-old violin prodigy, Brianna Kahane will perform.  Who says Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken get all the fame from being on American Idol?  A top 24 semi-finalist, Brett Loewenstern will also perform, no Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson won’t be judging his performance.
