Selma Blair Honored At 26th Annual Race To Erase MS Gala With $1.8 Million Raised

This year’s annual Race to Erase Multiple Sclerosis (MS) gala honored celebrated actress Selma Blair, who famously went on the record this year speaking out about her challenging battle with the disease, as well as the Hausman Family Foundation, for its outstanding support of Race to Erase MS. Taking place at the Beverly Hilton for its 26th year, the event raised $1.8 million, going toward the Race to Erase MS and its Center Without Walls Program, which focuses on research to treat MS and eventually, cure it. 

Notable attendees included Race to Erase MS Founder Nancy Davis; honoree Selma Blair; honorees The Hausman Family; performers Aloe Blacc and Flo Rida; musical producer David Foster; presenters Johnny Galecki, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jack Osbourne, and Robin Roberts; and special guests Kris Jenner, Tommy Hilfiger, LaToya Jackson, Jamie-Lynn Sigler; Rumer Willis, Vanna White, Garcelle Beauvais, Maksim Chmerkovsky, Tommy Chong, Nicole Williams, Larry English, Peter Facinelli, Camille Grammer, Karina Smirnoff and many more.

To kick off the evening, alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet provided a special runway show, followed by Nancy Davis taking the stage to address the audience, speaking to the organization’s successes over the years, raising over $48 million for Race to Erase MS and its Center Without Walls program. A live auction then ensued with covetable items and experiences such as a ski trip at The Little Nell in Aspen; a chance to tour Abbey Road Studios—sold to Tommy Hilfiger—and a vacation to the Bahamas on an Illusions Yacht.

Presenters David Foster and Jack Osbourne—who was also diagnosed with MS in 2012—then introduced the first performer of the night Aloe Blacc, followed by headliner musician Flo Rida, who had the crowd dancing the night away. David Foster later performed the final song of the evening—Lean On Me—as part of an ongoing tradition over the past 26 years for the Race to Erase MS.
