During Miami’s highly-anticipated Swim Week, luxury seaside essentials brand The Beach People and Haute Living took to the posh 1 Hotel South Beach‘s brand-new restaurant, Habitat by José Mendín, to host an intimate luncheon. Australian-born sisters and co-founders of The Beach People, Emma Henderson and Victoria Beattie, invited guests to get an up-close look at some of their famed beach essential pieces, including their signature “Roundie” towels, luxurious beach cushions, popular Scallop Bags and so much more. The luncheon also served as a celebration to kick off the brand’s pop-up which took place throughout the weekend at the hotel’s trendy Rooftop Pool area where guests could come shop and meet the ladies behind the brand.

As guests entered the gorgeous second-floor space of the restaurant, they were greeted with glasses of La Chapelle Gordon Rosé and the warm smiles of the sisters as they mixed and mingled and admired some of the latest pieces of their collections on display. On each chair, attendees received a beautiful tote gift bag, which included a Roundie towel and their portable, luxurious beach cushions, which are the perfect essentials for traveling to the beach on the go. The tables were beautifully adorned with white and green floral arrangements from Petal Pushers.
The gorgeous restaurant curated the perfect menu for the affair, including some of their signature dishes like the Crab Croquettes, Japanese Amberjack, Hamachi Aguachiles, Udon Carbonara, Wood Fired Branzino and Petit Filet Mignon. Guests toasted their hosts and enjoyed a wonderful afternoon celebrating the start of Swim Week and learning more about the Australian-born brand.
Emma and Victoria shared that the unique idea was conceptualized one day sitting at their hometown beach while watching their husbands surf, realizing there was a need for classic, earthy beach towels and accessories that was missing from the current marketplace—and thought an even better way to differentiate themselves was to bring forth a round towel as opposed to rectangular—something that had not yet debuted, shockingly. After sharing their story with guests, the two sisters rose to give a toast and thank everyone for coming out to join them in celebrating the start of Swim Week and their Miami pop-up at the 1 Hotel. Guests applauded, clinked glasses and enjoyed a splurge-worthy dessert creation by pastry chef Maria Orantes before departing.
