Area 31 Aids in Gulf Relief Efforts

News | June 24, 2010

Starting yesterday, Wednesday, June 23, Area 31 promised to donate $1 to the Gulf Relief Foundation for every Oyster Primi dish sold from its lunch and dinner menu.  Though it may seem fishy to consume seafood for such a cause, don’t let the irony deter you.  The oyster platter dish consists of six chilled Island Creek Oysters from Massachusetts, along with an Area 31 mignonette sauce and lemons.

“We wanted to support those who have been most affected and displaced by this oil spill, especially those fishermen who we rely on everyday in our restaurants,” said Executive Chef John Critchley.

Area 31 will help aid the Gulf Relief Foundation, a nonprofit committed to providing relief to the Gulf Coast fishing community and their families, until the disaster is taken care of. Also participating in fundraising efforts are Central 214 (5680 North Central Expressway, Dallas, TX 75206) and Pacci Ristorante (866 West Peachtree St., NW, Atlanta, GA 30308).
