The Bridge X Celebrated a Decade of Automotive Culture in Bridgehampton

The Bridge X celebrated its tenth anniversary in Bridgehampton with rare automobiles, Breguet, Mytheresa, and a Volvo EX60 debut

Ten years in, The Bridge has become exactly what it set out to be: the most considered automotive gathering on the East Coast and one of the most respected in the world. On September 20 and 21, The Bridge X returned to the grounds of the former Bridgehampton Race Circuit under clear skies and September sunshine for its milestone tenth edition, presented once again by Mercedes-Benz USA.

The by-invitation-only gathering transformed the fairways of The Bridge golf club into an artful display of automotive history, design, engineering, and culture. Drawing from some of the world’s finest private collections, the event maintained The Bridge’s defining premise: no competition, no awards, no rankings. The cars, their design, and their stories speak for themselves.

The tenth edition arrived at a significant moment for the event’s presenting sponsor. Mercedes-Benz USA is celebrating 140 years of the marque in 2026, and at the heart of The Bridge X was “Lines of Motion,” a large-scale installation extending from the exterior of The Bridge Pro Shop across the grounds and into the vehicle displays. The installation offered a visual interpretation of 140 years of innovation, from Carl Benz’s 1886 patent for the first automobile to the marque’s contemporary expressions of performance and technology.

Mercedes-Benz vehicles wove throughout the gathering, spanning historic and contemporary icons including multiple 300 SLs and the Mercedes-AMG ONE. The event’s signature use of color groupings produced some of its most visually striking displays: an assembly of white Porsche 911 RS models spanning generations, an ombré of green Porsches, and a striking collection of Ferraris presented in shades of green. Sixteen Ferrari Testarossas lined the driving range. A starting grid on Paddock Four brought together race cars spanning from the 1950s through the present.

Beyond the automobiles, The Bridge X expanded its scope to bring together some of the most significant names in horology, fashion, aviation, and luxury lifestyle.

Breguet presented a working atelier where a Master Guillocheur demonstrated the intricate art of Guilloché on an antique rose-engine machine, while a Master Watchmaker demonstrated live movement assembly. Among the timepieces on view were the Experimentale 1, featuring the world-first magnetic escapement, the GPHG-winning Souscription 2025BH, and six new tourbillon models commemorating 225 years since Breguet invented the complication.

Volvo returned to mark the debut of its new all-electric EX60, introduced with a live performance by pianist and composer Chloe Flower. The presentation brought together Volvo models across the decades, from the 1957 PV444E to the 2027 EX60. Spyker made its Bridge debut with the limited-edition C8 Preliator XXV. Ferrari North America presented a curated display on the croquet lawn. Aston Martin presented two bespoke vehicles. Twisted Automotive presented two handcrafted classic Land Rover Defenders, each built over more than 2,500 hours, and previewed its 500-horsepower TRRC through a precision scale model ahead of its full-scale U.S. debut in October. Expedition Motor Company returned with a frame-off restoration of a Mercedes-Benz 250GD Wolf, rebuilt from European military service over more than 2,500 man-hours and powered by a 430-horsepower LS3 V8.

Mytheresa served as the event’s exclusive luxury fashion partner, creating an immersive men’s lounge featuring curated luxury menswear alongside bespoke tailoring, shoe shining, and premium cigars. Moët Hennessy joined as the exclusive Wine and Spirits partner. Blade, a Joby Company, presented a full-scale model of Joby’s S4 electric aircraft alongside an on-site lounge. Merrill, a Bank of America Company, returned with its on-site lounge.

A new drive-in movie theater vignette brought guests together to watch a hypercut of founder Bob Rubin’s favorite car movies, narrated by Rubin himself, with classic concessions including popcorn. A vintage-inspired taxi stand and bus stop featured a 1973 GMC New Look Bus and multiple yellow sports cars serving as cabs. Artists tagged a cardboard Mason Williams bus artwork live on the grounds, adding another layer of street culture to the event’s Americana-inspired visual storytelling.

The Bridge weekend opened Sunday, September 20, with Cars and Coffee, presented by 1600 Veloce, at the Bridgehampton Museum. Complimentary and open to the public, the morning gathering brought enthusiasts together to display and celebrate classic, vintage, exotic, and specialty vehicles. Ryan Friedman Motor Cars and Goulston and Storrs joined as Cars and Coffee partners.

The weekend concluded with The Bridge at Topping Rose House, Celebrating the 140th Jubilee of Mercedes-Benz, a ticketed garden gathering limited to 500 guests. Set within the gardens of the historic hotel, the afternoon featured Mercedes-Benz vehicles celebrating the marque’s legacy of innovation alongside cuisine from Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Ticket proceeds benefited Heart of the Hamptons, the Southampton-based nonprofit providing a weekly food pantry and emergency assistance to local individuals, seniors, and families in crisis.

The Bridge’s setting is inseparable from its identity. Designed by Grumman engineers and built in 1957 across more than 500 acres overlooking Peconic Bay, the original Bridgehampton Race Circuit emerged in response to New York’s ban on racing on public roads and became an important chapter in post-war American motorsport. After the property faced the prospect of development in the early 1970s, Robert Rubin stepped in to preserve the land, later establishing The Bridge golf club on the site. Ten years after The Bridge was founded, that history remains at the heart of the gathering.

The Bridge is a collaboration between Robert Rubin, who has owned the Bridgehampton Race Circuit since 1981 and founded The Bridge golf club in 2002; Shamin Abas, President of Shamin Abas Associates; and Jeffrey Einhorn, a Manhattan-based attorney and longtime car collector.
