Kruseville Welcomes Sobe Arts

News | May 26, 2010

Cool cat in Coconut Grove, Carl Kruse, hosted a fundraiser for Sobe Arts this past Saturday at his hip house called “Kruseville.” Hipsters packed the joint all in the name of charity. Approximately, $20,000 was raised for a good arts cause.

Guests were treated to amazing food by The Wandering Chef, Micah, who worked diligently in the kitchen behind her “police line” of protection. Outside, Carl’s infamous “No Mercy Bar” kept everyone happy. DJ Amalia spun the tunes.

But the real treats of the night were the live performances by students from Sobe Arts. There was a solo guitarist followed by a concert consisting of sweet young students playing the keyboards, flute, violin and more. Petite fashionistas watched their peers from the sidelines. It was all quite a charming setting!

SoBe Institute of the Arts’ (SoBe Arts) mission is to develop and build a world-class arts education and performance institute in the south for the community and help students earn professional degrees in music, music-theater, theater, visual arts, film-video, dance, and literature. Sobe Arts provides complimentary concerts as well as world-class arts & music education to adults and children without regard for their socioeconomic background.
