RÜFÜS DU SOL, Calvin Harris, The Chainsmokers and Diplo Light Up XS Las Vegas’ Grand Reopening
XS at Wynn Las Vegas is back after a complete redesign, with RÜFÜS DU SOL, The Chainsmokers, Calvin Harris and Diplo B2B HUGEL headlining.
Calvin Harris. The Chainsmokers. Diplo. RÜFÜS DU SOL. When XS Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas decided to come back, it didn’t announce a reopening so much as a festival. From November 5 to 8, four of dance music’s biggest acts are taking turns christening the completely reimagined Encore nightclub, one of the most anticipated returns of the Las Vegas season. In Las Vegas, subtlety rarely gets an invitation. At the new XS, even the ceiling is getting in on the performance.

RÜFÜS DU SOL kicks off the four-night run with a DJ set on Thursday, followed by The Chainsmokers on Friday, Calvin Harris on Saturday and Diplo going back-to-back with HUGEL on Sunday. A quiet return was clearly never on the table.
For the headliners, it’s something of a homecoming. “XS feels like home to me, it’s probably the place I’ve played the most times ever,” Diplo said. Harris was just as sentimental: “I’ve played some incredible nights at XS, and it’s always been one of my favorite places to play in Las Vegas.” The Chainsmokers, meanwhile, have had “some of our favorite nights at XS over the years.”

Seventeen years after its debut, the Encore nightlife fixture has undergone a complete transformation, trading on its signature glamour while giving the room a decidedly futuristic new look. Think sculptural gold structures, mirrored metallic finishes and 1,200 kinetic pendants overhead, all conspiring to make looking up almost as compelling as watching the DJ.
“The new XS is not a departure from its legacy. It’s the next chapter of it,” said Michael Wood, Vice President of Creative at Wynn Design & Development. “We’re taking everything people remember about XS, the glamour, the fantasy, the sense of spectacle, and asking what those ideas mean for the next generation of nightlife.”

The answer involves quite a bit of gold—and considerably more engineering than your average nightclub makeover. Drawing on retro-futurist design, the interiors bring together reflective brass, bronze and chrome with saturated color, sculptural shapes and luminous surfaces. It is a vision of the future with an unapologetically lavish dress code.
The biggest scene-stealer sits overhead, where those 1,200 kinetic pendants move within sculptural gold structures, changing the room’s character throughout the night. A bespoke aperture centerpiece and textured, gold-mirrored, high-resolution LED screens add to the production, while custom gold-finished audio and lighting systems fit directly into the architecture. Designed, engineered and fabricated exclusively for Wynn, the elements allow the space to shift in mood and energy as the evening progresses.
In other words, the room has choreography of its own.

The DJ booth gets equal attention. Mirrored gold finishes make it a focal point, while subwoofers and center-fill speakers are discreetly incorporated into its structure. The technical infrastructure gives artists more ways to carry their performances throughout the venue, making the surrounding space part of the show.
For a club that has spent nearly two decades hosting some of the biggest names in dance music, that flexibility matters. So does giving longtime guests a reason to take another look.

“XS has long been synonymous with the very best of Las Vegas nightlife, setting a standard for entertainment and energy. With this reimagining, we saw an opportunity to build on that legacy and deliver even more of what guests love about XS, including a stage that regularly welcomes some of the most sought-after talent in the world,” said Adam Norotsky, Vice President of Nightlife at Wynn Las Vegas.
Spanning more than 40,000 square feet, XS accommodates 1,840 guests indoors and up to 3,121 when its outdoor areas are included. Since opening in December 2008, it has become a fixture of the city’s nightlife scene, earning recognition as a top-grossing U.S. nightclub and multiple Best Nightclub honors from the Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association.
Now, with a moving ceiling, a gleaming new interior and a reopening lineup worthy of a festival, XS is making a persuasive case for staying out past your bedtime.
