Haute 100 Miami Update: Phillip and Patricia Frost to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award
Philanthropists Phillip and Patricia Frost are to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce’s 91st Annual Dinner Gala. The event takes place Saturday, June 1st at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The couple, who met over 50 years ago when Phillip was a medical intern, have been known as two of the biggest philanthropists in Miami. In addition to a record-breaking $33 million donation to finance the Frost School of Music at University of Miami, their donations have made the Frost Art Museum at FIU and now, the Patricia And Phillip Frost Museum of Science in downtown’s museum park, possible. Patricia worked as a teacher for many years and principal in the Miami-Dade County Public School System and Phillip was a dermatologist who went into the pharmaceutical business having great success with IVAX and then OPKO
